PURPOSE

 

The Contracts Manager is responsible for managing certain aspects of the Legal Department contracts function.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reviews certain builder, subcontractor, and vendor contracts initiated with the Company.
  • Develops or approves addendums to contracts.
  • Assists Director of Contracts Management and other Department personnel with coordination and management of critical customer and vendor insurance and contract compliance programs.
  • Reviews contracts for key legal terms and uses independent judgment to determine appropriate method of revision.
  • Collaborates with Legal Department staff on priorities, issues, scheduling and interfacing with in-house clients.
  • Manages tracking, completion and return of documents requiring action either inside or outside the department and company.
  • Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Five (5) years of directly related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  

COMPETENCIES

  • Familiarity with legal terms, documents and filing systems
  • Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to use tact and skill in dealing with all levels of personnel
  • Skill in the use of a personal computer and various application programs (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Ability to organize and complete tasks in a timely manner
