Alight Solutions seeks a high-performing attorney looking for an opportunity to join a collaborative and energetic legal department to support a rapidly transforming and dynamic business. The Assistant General Counsel will be responsible for providing support on a wide range of supply chain contracts related to operations, marketing, IT and deliver will be responsible for providing support on a wide range of supply chain contracts related to operations, marketing, IT and delivery groups. The position presents a unique opportunity for a senior attorney to focus on a broad range of contract and compliance matters.   

Job Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and advise the business of relevant legal, compliance and sourcing issues.
  • Draft, revise and negotiate all types of subcontractor, partner and vendor agreements.
  • Develop best practices for identifying and reducing known and potential regulatory, legal, and business risks.
  • Manage vendor disputes to resolution.
  • Undertake other assignments as determined by legal department leadership.
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of relevant industry trends and practices that may affect Alight and its clients.

Provide relevant training to internal stakeholders to support and improve negotiation practices.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • At least ten years of substantive transactional experience gained either at a law firm or another in-house position. 
  • Experience with large, complex commercial transactions
  • Experience supporting global procurement team.
  • Experience with commercial leasing preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of Privacy laws, including GDPR, HIPAA, CRPA, etc.
  • Experience with OKR methodology
  • Ability to provide good, proactive professional guidance and advice and sound business-focused solutions that combine excellent judgment, creativity, risk-taking, and technical expertise.
  • A history of enthusiastic participation and leadership in a team environment.
  • Learning agility, including a demonstrated willingness to develop expertise in new subject matter areas.
  • Ability to collaborate with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders to deal with complex issues in a challenging environment.
  • Ability to effectively present and communicate information to senior management and various business colleagues and successfully impact decision-making. 
  • Share our purpose and values, including high ethical standards, teamwork, client service, work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office components (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with DocuSign and SmartSheets preferred.
  • Candidate must have Juris Doctor from an ABA accredited law school and be a member in good standing of at least bar.

Pay Transparency Statement: Alight takes into consideration a candidate’s experience, education, certification/credentials, market data, internal equity, and geography when determining an offer for a successful employment candidate, and Alight does so on an individualized, non-discriminatory basis. Therefore, an offer may fall anywhere between the estimated minimum base salary for this role of $112,700.00/year (for full time employees) and the estimated maximum base salary for this role of $178,900.00/year (for full time employees). In addition to a base salary, this position may be eligible for a bonus and/or other incentive plans.
