We are seeking to add a Sr Director Global Trade Compliance to play an integral role in our Global Fulfillment Organization! This role is responsible for Hasbro’s Global Trade and Customs Compliance globally across 28 countries and regions of operations. This position has a global remit and is responsible for leading Hasbro’s Trade & Customs compliance activities across all company geographies (NA, LATAM, EMEA and APAC). This role requires a solid understanding and subject matter expertise within all facets of global trade compliance. The Global Trade and Customs Compliance Director will provide strategic direction, technical expertise, and execution of Hasbro’s Global Trade Compliance Framework; driving and enabling trade compliance excellence across the organization as defined by adherence to applicable laws and regulations pertaining to international trade as well as ensuring compliance with Hasbro’s corporate, divisional, and local policies to minimize the company’s trade risks.
A day in the life of a Sr Director Global Trade Compliance:
- Identify, pursue, and document cost saving or operational improvement opportunities and initiatives through the global supply chain that can be implemented within the next two years.
- Develop, implement and update as necessary the Company's Trade Compliance Program to ensure a best practices program consistent with U.S. Export/Import laws and regulations and other trade-related requirements of U.S. and non-U.S. government agencies.
- Ensure Hasbro’s compliance with CTPAT and Importer Self-Assessment (ISA), AEO and Denied Party Screening requirements or other critical compliance regulations associated with the flow of Hasbro’s goods.
- Develop trade compliance training programs for company employees and third-party agents, and appropriately identify and prioritize high-risk practices by geography or country. Provide and actively demonstrate strategic and tactical trade compliance leadership within the organization.
- Chair and/or participate in cross-functional committees and leadership team involving trade compliance matters, some of which will include members of the Compliance/ Legal, Logistics, Security, and Internal Audit departments.
- Provide support and leadership to geographies in their adherence to corporate policies and procedures regarding trade compliance by providing advice and support to Global Trade Compliance personnel across all geographies on all customs trade compliance matters.
- Conduct supplier contract negotiations, standardize processes, apply technology, and facilitate organizational change and training programs that maintain or improve customer satisfaction levels while also reducing or maintaining efficient cost structures.
- Manage and make recommendations regarding the selection of Hasbro’s third-party customs broker activities on a global scale.
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Supply Chain, International Business, Business Administration or Finance; or supplemented by a JD or other graduate degree in a trade or compliance related field.
- Diploma(s) in Global Import/Export Control and/or Management.
- 7-10 years’ experience in international trade within a global logistics organization within a publicly traded company or top tier consulting firm (top 4) including at least 7 years of experience in a compliance global related function and minimum of
- 7 years of relevant global trade experience. Experience must include managing GTC requirements for regions outside of US & Canada including Latin America, Asia Pacific, and Europe both for inbound and outbound logistics operation.
- Must have experience developing and implementing trade compliance programs
- Experience managing inbound and outbound logistics customs requirements including compliance management, inspection control and reviews, RFI resolution, ICDR etc.
- Prior experience with ECCN analysis as well experience with leading PRC process in a large org.
- Extensive valuation and HTSC experience using WTO guidelines in partnership with stakeholders across product development, sourcing organization, finance and legal.
- Solid experience of license and brokerage management experience with a global logistics organization with highly globalized import/export operations
- Must have prior experience of supporting global transportation group with all inbound and outbound customers and brokerage requirements within a multinational supply chain.
- Prior experience working with preferential origin analysis with logistics operations of highly globalized and multinational and publicly traded company.
- Proven experience of effectively planning and prioritizing multiple global cross-functional projects.
- 6+ years managing and developing multi-discipline teams, preferably with international reach across multiple service types.
- Highly preferred: JD or master’s degree in Customs and Export Management.
- Highly Preferred: Licensed Customs Broker.
