Labcorp is seeking an attorney to serve in the role of Privacy Counsel. The Privacy Counsel will support the Company’s global privacy program, including compliance with the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and other privacy laws and regulations applicable to the Company.

 

In this role, the successful candidate will:

  • Provide support for the Company's global privacy program;
  • Provide support for compliance with global privacy and data security laws and regulations including U.S. federal and state privacy laws, international privacy laws, including the GDPR and similar laws, and international data protection compliance;
  • Assist in the implementation, maintenance and updating of privacy policies and procedures across the organization;
  • Assist the Company in privacy matters relating to mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence and integration;
  • Support development, distribution and updating of privacy training and awareness activities;
  • Assist with maintaining records of processing activities, conducting data privacy impact assessments, and responding to data subject access requests;
  • Assist with vetting and auditing of vendors for privacy compliance;
  • Assist with event and incident mitigation and response and supporting coordination of breach investigations and notifications;
  • Support privacy audits and assessments globally;
  • Assist with the development and review of privacy-related contract provisions;
  • Work with the Company’s Office of Information Security in support of strategies for privacy and data security;
  • Assist with enterprise-wide initiatives to ensure the development of new products and services is consistent with Company compliance, privacy policies and legal obligations; and
  • Demonstrate integrity, professional ethics, and sound judgement in managing risks and enforcing company-wide standards.

 

To fulfill this role, the candidates must possess the following:

  • J.D. from an ABA accredited law school;
  • Admission to a U.S. State Bar;
  • Experience working in a legal setting (law firm, in-house or government position);
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and
  • Ability to undertake and prioritize mission critical tasks in a fast-paced environment.

 

The ideal candidate will also have:

  • Experience with life sciences and pharmaceutical companies; and
  • Recognized privacy certifications such as CIPP certifications.

 

Pay: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 + bonus

Benefits: All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data. Regular, full-time or part-time employees working 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(K), ESPP, Paid time off (PTO) or Flexible time off (FTO), Commissions, and Company bonus where applicable.
