FedEx Custom Critical is excited to add a Senior Attorney to our Legal team. This position will be based out of our new Corporate Headquarters, located in Richfield, Ohio. The Senior Attorney provides legal counsel and business advice to the company to ensure its effective operation in accordance with federal, state and local laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will also have a transportation background.

JOB DUTIES
JOB EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Assesses legal risk and provides management (including executive management) with recommendations regarding matters such as business transactions, commercial contracts, business model compliance, pending litigation, regulatory and cross-border compliance, Code of Conduct compliance, government contracting and applicable laws.
- Drafts, reviews and negotiates legal documents including Sales and Customer contracts and reviews proposed transactions to ensure maximum benefit to the Company and minimize exposure to risk; Serves as subject matter expert in Sales and Customer contracting.
- Responsible for the vendor contracting process and/or other legal operations streams.
- Counsels and advises all departments in response to questions/issues arising in the course of day-to-day business of the Company.
- Identifies and adopts best practices for legal processes using QDM, including collaboration with internal stakeholders and creating communication plans for process updates.
- Creates, updates, and reviews policies and procedures to ensure that the company is operating in compliance with regulations and that regulatory reporting requirements are met.
- Develops and delivers presentations and training to employees, including management, within areas of responsibility.
- Negotiates the settlement of claims and suits against the Company arising out of area of expertise and works with other personnel and outside counsel in the defense of claims and suits.
- Provides legal representation on cross-functional and cross-operating company projects and initiatives; supports and assists with corporate transitions.
- Ensures company compliance with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Juris doctorate from an accredited university
- Licensed attorney in good standing
JOB EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 1+ years required experience addressing various legal matters relevant to business; including transactional and compliance work
- 2-5 years required experience addressing various legal matters relevant to business, including transactional and compliance work; demonstrated expertise in business transactions and compliance matters; exhibits sound judgment; experience in legal support positions within the company
