The Senior Analyst, Global Trade Compliance for Leica Biosystems is responsible for ensuring trade master data and associated records required for the Global Trade Compliance program to be effective and audit-ready in all global locations are correctly defined, documented and made available to all stakeholders. This includes classification of goods/data/services to tariff schedules and export control classification regimes in all relevant global locations and calculation of Country of Origin for goods.

You will be a part of the Global Trade Compliance Team and report to the Director, Global Trade Compliance responsible for enhancing the LBS global trade compliance program, executing tactical trade compliance operations to support the rapidly expanding global business. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Develop, implement, and maintain the global classification (according to all applicable tariff schedules and export control classification regimes) and country of origin programs across all Business Units and Selling Units, whilst supporting with classification as it applies to Sanctions regimes and requirements
Maintain databases for classification and country of origin in line with stakeholder requirements and work with key stakeholders to maintain audit-ready records across all entities, including where this requires contact with third parties to obtain records for classification or Supplier Declarations for country of origin
Work in conjunction with Danaher and Diagnostics Platform Trade Compliance SMEs to complete Annual Tariff Shifts
Support reporting and analysis of Global Trade Compliance data for local, global and Danaher and Diagnostics Platform reporting and analysis
Support with the maintenance of trade metrics, internal self-audits (Self-Testing) & processes to ensure adherence to customs & import/export requirements
Assist with trade compliance audits and government inquiries/responses, providing direct communication to authorities where directed
The essential requirements of the job include:
BS or BA degree in international trade, supply chain logistics, or related field
3+ years of direct trade compliance experience in a multinational organization
Expert in classification to tariff schedules (HTS/TARIC/Tariff Code) and export control classification regimes
Knowledge of global import/customs regulations, export control regulations, embargoes and sanctions (principally the US, UK, EU, China and Australia)
Understanding of the principles of Trade Compliance (customs valuation, incoterms, license and permits, country of origin, HTS classifications, duty optimization / Free Trade Agreements, export controls and sanctions etc.)
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Proficient in ERP and MS Office (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
Proven ability to build rapport at all levels within the organization
Willing to travel internationally up to 15% of time
