The Sinas Dramis Law Firm, a well established personal injury firm with 5 separate locations throughout the State of Michigan, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced paralegal to join their team in the law firm’s Lansing office! This paralegal will mainly be supporting one of their senior personal injury attorneys, with over 20 years of experience.

Necessary Qualities : The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities.

  • Communication Skills: Effective communication is crucial in this role. This paralegal must be able to communicate clearly and professionally with clients, attorneys, witnesses, and co-workers.
  • Empathy: Dealing with clients who have suffered injuries can be emotionally challenging. Being empathetic and understanding toward clients' needs and concerns is essential.
  • Organization and Attention to Detail: Personal injury cases involve a lot of documentation, medical records, and evidence. This paralegal must be highly organized to keep track of all the details and deadlines. The assigned Senior Attorney has a very high caseload and cannot emphasize enough the importance of organization. This paralegal must pay close attention to detail to ensure accuracy.
  • Time Management: Personal injury cases often have strict deadlines, and this paralegal needs to manage their time efficiently to meet these deadlines. You will be responsible for managing your own day, deadlines, and calendar when completing your job duties.
  • Teamwork: Personal injury cases often involve a team of legal professionals. this paralegal must be able to effectively work well with others, in and out of the office.

Key Responsibilities and Job Duties :

  • Manage personal injury cases from inception to resolution, working closely with the senior attorney and the legal assistant.
  • Prepare settlement brochures, legal documents, and correspondence.
  • Manage Discovery throughout the course of the matter.
  • Review and summarize medical records to assist in case evaluation.
  • Ensure consistent and timely submission of medical bills to insurance carriers.
  • Maintain ongoing communication and relationships with clients, providing updates and addressing their needs.
  • Stay updated on legal and procedural changes related to personal injury and no-fault laws in Michigan.

Requirements :

  • Associate's degree in Business with a Paralegal concentration. (strongly preferred)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal. (strongly preferred)
  • Experience working in a personal injury law firm. (strongly preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe software.
  • Familiarity with general office tasks and equipment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Michigan no-fault insurance system.
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology (helpful).
