**Description

** The Administrative Office of the Courts is the operational arm of the Judicial Branch. The court system employs nearly 3,400 personnel who support 406 elected justices, judges, and circuit court clerks.

The Supreme Court of Kentucky has an immediate need for a SC Deputy Court Administrator in Franklin County. Primary workstation is located at the Office of the Clerk of the Supreme Court in Frankfort, KY.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Advise the Supreme Court Clerk on substantive and procedural legal issues as required to assist in the development and implementation of court rules and procedures.
  • Assist the Clerk in exercising management responsibility for all aspects of Clerk’s Office operations. The
  • Deputy Court Administrator is expected to assist the Clerk in matters impacting case and records management, calendar oversight, oral argument scheduling, and opinion publication.
  • Oversee the administration of the Court’s motion docket in coordination with the Supreme Court Clerk.
  • Perform quality control functions in the areas of opinion publication and work product from the Clerk's Office.
  • Ensure that work product standards are met.
  • Other duties as assigned.

**Minimum Requirements

** EDUCATION: Juris doctor from an accredited law school

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Minimum of 3 years of litigation or legal practice experience

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: NONE

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Strong legal writing and legal citation abilities; law journal experience is preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and court management software. High level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.
