Your Responsibilities

As an Attorney for John Deere located in Moline, IL, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Provide legal support (research, counseling, presenting recommendations and alternatives) on issues related to employment law, and occupational safety and health matters, including industrial hygiene and ergonomics.
  • Review and provide legal advice on employment law, and safety and occupational health-related provisions on policies, contracts, and other documents.
  • Draft, negotiate, and review legal documents, including opinions, contracts, policies, and standards, and review materials for compliance with applicable laws and stay current on emerging trends impacting employment law, safety, and occupational health.
  • Collaborate with business partners, Global Law Services colleagues, and other stakeholders to provide leadership, expertise, and solutions to the business.

What Skills You Need

  • 3 or more years of experience in the practice of law in a private law firm or corporate law department
  • 3 or more years of experience counseling clients on legal matters
  • 3 or more years of experience performing legal research on legal issues and assessing applicability of legal requirements and risk in various circumstances
  • 3 or more years of litigation experience
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, and including delivering training and other presentations
  • Ability to travel up to 25%


What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience counseling business clients on OSHA, and/or workers' compensation matters, employment law
  • Experience in litigation and/or advising specific to employment law, OSHA, and/or workers' compensation matters



  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree
  • Must be licensed to practice law in the U.S. and the ability to obtain an Illinois law license or Illinois In-House license
