Seeking an experienced Workers Comp Defense Attorney to join our mid-size firm in Chicago. As a Workers' Comp Defense Attorney you will be responsible for providing legal representation and counsel to companies defending workers' compensation claims. You will play a critical role in defending against the complex legal procedures and process. Location : Chicago, IL (Hybrid)

Responsibilities:

• Handle a caseload of workers' compensation cases from inception to resolution.
• Conduct thorough investigations to gather relevant evidence, including medical records, witness statements, and accident reports.
• Analyze and evaluate the merits of each case, identifying potential legal strategies and arguments.
• Provide legal advice and guidance to clients regarding their rights and benefits under workers' compensation laws.
• Engage in negotiations with opposing counsel, and other parties to seek favorable settlements.
• Prepare and represent clients in administrative hearings and court proceedings.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in the Illinois State Bar Association or eligibility for reciprocity.
• Minimum 3+ yrs. experience practicing workers' compensation law.
• Strong knowledge of workers' compensation laws, regulations, and procedures.
• Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.
• Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
