Senior Practice Manager
Our client, a top tier Big Law firm, is seeking a Senior Practice Manager with a minimum of 10 years of professional service experience and a minimum 5 years of law firm experience, in a peer firm M&A practice group. To join their busy M&A practice. This role will oversee all aspects of the administration of the group with respect to the attorney’s professional development, staffing, evaluations and policies.
The Senior Practice Manager will provide support to the M&A partners with respect to associate and counsel needs, including staffing and utilization, monitoring of workloads and tracking skills and experience. SPM will also strategize with M&A practice group leaders to develop and implement new M&A group initiatives and oversee the M&A Legal Personnel team with respect to associate and counsel staffing requests.
This key role will manage the annual evaluation process for associates and counsel; solicit and compile interim feedback. It will also serve as a resource for the M&A associates in connection with assignments, wok allocation, interpersonal issues, and career planning; Plan and coordinate all M&A group meetings and events. Meet with lateral hires periodically to ensure a successful transition and meet regularly with associates to assess morale, identify training issues, answer questions and address concerns.
The ideal candidate must have experience in practice group or talent management in a large law firm. Undergraduate degree required. J.D. Preferred. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with attorneys and staff are required. Compensation includes a salary of $200K to $220K plus an excellent benefits package. Candidates must be highly organized and have a self-directed approach to work, along with the ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and thrive in a fast-paced environment .
