**Job Summary:
** We are looking for a talented In-House Legal Counsel to guide us through the legal aspects of our business. This person will give legal advice to management about all relevant issues and help us to protect our reputation by making sure the company strictly follows the guidelines of the law. This position will be located at our U.S. Corporate Headquarter location in Gastonia, NC.
**Essential Job Functions:
**
- Give accurate and timely counsel to executives in a variety of legal topics.
- Draft and review the legality of transactions, contract, agreements, and joint ventures to ensure the company’s full legal rights.
- Specify internal governance policies and regularly monitor compliance.
- Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations.
- Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on possible legal issues.
- Communicate and negotiate with regulators, external counsel, public authority, etc. to create relations of trust.
- Monitor updates in laws and regulations.
- Coordinate with executives and general counsel regarding the implementation of legal strategies and standards.
- Advise on complex matters with multiple stakeholders and forces.
- Provide clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organization.
- Conduct your work with integrity and responsibility.
**Education, Training, Certifications:
**
- JD Degree and American Bar Association Membership in good standing required.
- Additional undergraduate or advanced degree in Business Administration is preferred.
**Experience:
**
- Minimum of 5 years’ post-graduation experience as a Legal Counsel in a corporate environment. Automotive experience preferred.
- Proven experience in contract and commercial law
- Proven experience in corporate housekeeping
- Hands-on mentality
- Experience building up legal departments is preferred.
**Job Knowledge and Skills:

- Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to create proactive strategies and create legal defense.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Working knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Highest personal ethics, integrity, and honesty.
- Proficient in MS Office
**Working Condition:
**
- Normal office environment, with the exception of as needed time spent on production floor for limited periods of time.
- Travel required to company facilities nationally and internationally.
