One of our International law firm clients is seeking a Practice Area Attorney for its Capital Markets practice. This is a great opportunity for a Capital Markets attorney seeking to remain in Big Law, but with reduced hours. In this role, you would help lead knowledge management initiatives for the firms Capital Markets group, including:

  • Developing and implementing solutions and best practices to increase attorney efficiency.
  • Assist in form creation and modifications.
  • Creating, maintaining and organizing resources for internal databases to support client service.
  • Monitoring and sharing legal and market developments.
  • Work with associates and partners to ensure proper distribution of work and efficient staffing.
  • Ensure the group's content, precedents, and resource materials are up-to-date and readily accessible on the Firm’s content sharing platforms, organize and curate practice sites to promote and make accessible the highest value content, and facilitate knowledge reuse.
  • Regularly review internal and publicly available transaction agreements and market studies to identify market trends; keep current on relevant case law and statutes; respond timely to queries; inform the Practice Groups of substantive legal developments.
  • Develop workflows leveraging Practice Group resources and technologies to promote efficiency in common matter types.
  • Provide ongoing individual and group lawyer and staff training on KM tools, resources and best practices.
  • Evaluate new and innovative KM and research tools and resources based on Practice Group needs; participate in technology pilots and assessments.

Experience Requirements:

  • 5+ years years of Capital Markets experience at an AmLaw 100 firm.
  • Passion for legal drafting, writing, and analysis, with uncompromising attention to detail.
  • Commitment to knowledge-sharing, efficiency and excellence in legal work.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with Department personnel, Firm management, other attorneys and staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with courtesy, diplomacy and discretion, efficiently follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Excellent organizational, planning and project management skills including record keeping, data collection and system information. Ability to compile and analyze data and furnish concise, detailed information in report format, written correspondence, e- mail or verbally.
