BJ’s Wholesale Club (NYSE: BJ) is a Fortune 250 company. The Senior Legal Counsel plays an integral role in supporting BJ’s on-going operations and must demonstrate excellent commercial sensibility and a team-first ethos. The Senior Legal Counsel advises company executives, negotiates complex commercial contracts, manages litigation, oversees compliance and regulatory matters, supports M&A and other strategic transactions, manages corporate paralegals and legal counsel, and otherwise supports the legal team and BJ’s business objectives.

**Responsibilities And Key Accountabilities

**

• Respond promptly to legal requests from the company's various business units, including merchandising, IT, finance, marketing, analytics, sales operations, and other business clients.
• Support executive leadership with commercially minded advising.
• Assist with M&A and other strategic transactional matters.
• Negotiate agreements consistent with company practices and risk tolerance.
• Manage litigation.
• Support the creation and continuous improvement of standard form agreements and legal processes.
• Advise on regulatory compliance matters (e.g., privacy, payments, and product-specific regulations).
• Support and manage corporate paralegals and legal counsel.
• Reports to Vice President, Associate General Counsel.

**Requirements

**

• J.D. required
• Minimum 6 years of experience. 3+ years AmLaw100 experience required.
• In-house experience strongly preferred.
• Admitted to MA bar association, or eligible to practice pursuant to MA SJC Rule 4:02 (9)

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is starting from $135,000.00.
