Steptoe & Johnson, LLP seeks an associate with two to five years of experience to join the Firm’s Investigations and White Collar (IWC) Defense practice group in its New York or Washington, DC office. The IWC group engages in high-profile criminal litigation and investigations and represents both individuals and entities. Ideal candidates will have strong white collar criminal litigation and investigations experience. Candidates should be prepared to assume significant responsibility in the management of their matters, and to take on a front-facing role with clients, opposing counsel, and the courts.

Candidates must have strong interpersonal communication skills and persuasive writing abilities. We are looking for candidates who can and want to assume immediate responsibility and leadership roles, work on high-stakes trials, work as an integral part of a high performing and collaborative team. We offer competitive compensation and excellent benefits in a collegial working environment that offers training and mentorship. The expected salary for this role is $250,000 - $345,000.

A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school is required. Admission to the California, New York, Maryland, Virginia, or District of Columbia Bar, active and in good standing, is also required.
