The Mural team brings together oncology expertise and passion to make an impact on patients' lives. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team. This position will provide experienced, strategic legal counsel with a specific focus on securities and transactional matters. The attorney must possess a strong working knowledge of laws, regulations, and standards relevant to the public biotech companies.

  • Assist with ongoing compliance with applicable reporting requirements of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and Nasdaq, including Regulation FD, periodic filings and proxy statements and Section 16 filings
  • Assist with development and management of the company’s preclearance policies and procedures and other equity-related matters
  • Interpret existing contracts and advise on contract interpretation issues in support of alliance management activities
  • Assist in the drafting of term sheets, collaboration, licensing and other agreements, and with due diligence reviews, to support business development activities
  • Assist members of the legal department with other legal needs of the company as necessary and contribute to the overall legal function
  • Appropriately triage a heavy workflow, setting appropriate priorities with internal clients and delivering results efficiently
  • Ensure internal clients receive sound, practical and timely legal advice and support
  • Foster strong working relationships with internal clients, while balancing legal risks
  • Develop and maintain expertise in applicable laws and regulations that impact the business

Qualifications

  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school with the license to practice law in the United States is required
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience with a life sciences company and/or with a law firm counseling life science company clients
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, effective cross-disciplinary oral and written communication skills with an ability to adapt style to communicate all levels within the organization
  • Experience working independently on complex projects as well as collaboratively with team members as needed
  • Proven track record of building strong and enduring relationships with cross-functional stakeholders - internal and external
  • Developed “soft skills” including maintaining a high degree of personal integrity, capable and effective empathetic listening, being humble and sensitive to client issues, and remaining down-to-earth and collaborative
  • Eagerness to creatively engage business leaders to fully understand complex issues and articulate creative and practical solutions and alternatives
  • Self-motivated to adapt, with the ability to quickly gain trust and credibility
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and respond to rapidly shifting priorities in ambiguous or challenging situations
  • Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad variety of matters and provide substantive support to the company on an as-needed basis
