Summary:

Under direct supervision, performs a variety of legal activities in accordance with established standards and provides advice to the Company on commercial, contracts, labor, corporate and trade matters, as well as other matters at the direction of the Associate General Counsel. Prepares, analyzes and/or reviews contracts, letters of agreement, correspondence and other documents. Supports compliance and training initiatives. Liaises with outside counsel to seek, evaluate and coordinate external advice. Liaises with internal divisional and operational area specialists.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review and negotiate contracts, support drafting changes and comments, provide analysis of contract issues.
    • Manage and maintain contract templates; review deviations from templates
    • Review and maintain customer contracts
    • Review and propose edits to vendor-facing agreements for a variety of Weber departments.
    • Review and edit additional transactional documents relating to a variety of topics, including sales, marketing, procurement and IT.
    • Assist with management of contract management system
  • Create and edit other documents, including memos, presentations, reports, letters and other such documents.
  • Review sales and marketing programs and materials (e.g. contests, marketing programs)
  • Conduct legal research on a variety of topics.
  • Experience with data privacy and information security a plus
  • Experience with ethical sourcing initiatives a plus

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a college or university; Juris Doctor from an accredited law school; admission to the Bar of the State of Illinois; 3-5 years professional or relevant educational experience. The following experience areas are helpful, but not required: advertising, real estate, finance, labor and employment, trade compliance, data privacy, information security, sourcing, product liability.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Bar admission in the State of Illinois and maintenance of necessary CLE credits.
