This opportunity includes the feel of a small law firm, yet have the chance to explore a diverse variety of law within a sizable practice. Our practice has a strong focus on commercial litigation, estate and trust planning and litigation, and real estate transactions and litigation. Job Responsibilities To Include:

• Drafting pleadings, discovery demands
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating business and real estate contracts 
• Developing and implementing litigation and negotiation strategies 
• Conducting depositions
• Responding to discovery requests 
• Reviewing title reports for closings 
• Communicating directly with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
• Conducting due diligence for real estate matters, including reviewing title reports, board minutes, and financials  
• Conducting legal and public records research 
• Appearing in court for litigation (virtually and in-person)
• Representing the firm at local networking events
• Researching topics and writing 1 blog post per month

Required Background & Skills:

• NY State Bar Admission 
• At least 3+ years of experience as an associate attorney in a general, real estate, and/or trust & estate practice 
• Detail-oriented with an entrepreneurial personality 
• An interest in being exposed to and gaining experience in a few different areas of law
• Superb written communication and research skills 

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in real estate, civil litigation or trust and estate litigation at a small firm
• Experience with co-ops / condominiums and/or construction law 
• Has an existing book of business 
• Has served as second chair and attended court appearances 
• Experience in blog writing 

Compensation: The salary range for this position is commensurate with experience, ranging from $100-125K annually.
