As the Intellectual Property (IP) intern, you will support the intellectual property needs of our Breast and Skeletal Health Division (BSH).

The BSH Division offers a broad portfolio of solutions, including the first 3D mammography system, cutting-edge bone densitometry technology, biopsy solutions, and several recently acquired breast surgery products, to enable early detection, more certain diagnosis, and compassionate treatment. 

Throughout the 10-12 weeks, you'll have the opportunity to work on patent and trademark matters, and interact with attorneys who support the commercial needs of the BSH Division.

 

Projects could include:

  • Evaluating competitive IP landscapes
  • Conducting patentability reviews and/or freedom-to-operate reviews
  • Collaborating with outside counsel handling patent and trademark portfolio development and prosecution matters, including drafting responses in prosecution matters
  • Analyzing and drafting various legal documents, including licensing agreements, research agreements, and non-disclosure agreements
  • Reviewing marketing materials and promotional literature for the business 

 

We're looking for bright, and inquisitive problem solvers who strive to make a difference. Key qualifications include the following: 

  • SUBMITTAL OF FALL SEMESTER GRADES ALONG WITH RESUME
  • Ability to work full-time over the summer months (May-August) 
  • Be currently enrolled in a law school program and have at least one semester remaining to complete after the internship
  • Rising 2L in law school
  • Have a technical background - Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Physics would be preferred
  • Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.2/4.0 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work onsite at our Marlborough, MA campus. Intern housing, relocation, and housing stipends are not provided

The hourly pay range for this role is $25 - $40 Compensation is determined by class standing and operational function.
