Job Duties

Fujitsu is seeking an experienced attorney for an in-house generalist position with a focus on commercial transactions, regulatory compliance, and intellectual property. Experience with the telecommunications industry (particularly the wireless and optical technology vendor community) is a strong plus. Job duties include:

  • Providing legal advice on a wide variety of matters including contracts, intellectual property, labor and employment issues, regulatory issues, litigation risk assessment and management, privacy laws, and cybersecurity
  • Providing leadership by working with other members of the legal team to develop corporate policies and procedures for the company
  • Drafting and reviewing contracts and other legal documents to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices
  • Conducting legal research to support business decisions or provide guidance in areas where laws are ambiguous or unclear
  • Drafting and reviewing contracts and other legal documents to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices
  • Reviewing contract bids and proposals to ensure that they comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies
  • Preparing reports and tracking matters in required format using company systems and tools

Qualifications

  • Member in good standing of the State Bar of Texas (other bar admissions may be considered). This job is a hybrid job and may require periodic attendance in person at meetings in the Dallas, Texas area.
  • Juris Doctorate degree from accredited law school.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience directly handling complex commercial transactions. Experience with data privacy (including without limitation Data Processing Agreements and Processing Descriptions compliant with GDPR) a definite plus.
  • Knowledge of key commercial contracting concepts preferred – may be satisfied by close involvement in complex commercial litigation.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills (plain-English drafting strongly preferred).
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills. Ability to forge relationships with internal clients as well as outside counsel. Excellent collaboration skills and consistency in client communications are essential.
  • Experience in regulatory or other internal investigations a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and meet client objectives.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as a member of a team.
  • Facility with Microsoft Office 365 required, expertise preferred.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to change; intellectual curiosity, and a passion for technology and innovation.
  • Time-management skills: ability to prioritize and juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
