LCD Overview
Professionals within Legal and Compliance (LCD) provide a wide range of services to our business units. They might help to structure a complex and sensitive cross-border transaction; advise on a new product introduction; develop a training program or defuse an investor dispute. They preserve the firm's invaluable reputation for integrity and protect the firm from sanctions with policies and procedures that meet regulatory requirements around the world. They also strive to maintain cooperative relationships with governmental policy makers and the regulatory and self-regulatory agencies that govern the firm's businesses.
Team Overview
The Enterprise Compliance Policy and Rules Management team contains two primary functions. The Policy Office sets and enforces Firmwide content and governance standards for LCD and Enterprise Risk Management policies and maintains the firm's repository for policies, procedures and related documents. The Compliance Rules Management Office (Rules Management Office) manages LCD's rules management program, which includes regulatory change monitoring and a central rules inventory, and maintains the Firm's rules management system.
Role Overview
The role will be responsible for supporting the Rules Management Office and business-as-usual routines for continued development of the rules management program to its future state. This includes, but is not limited to, assessing how the management of laws, rules and regulations is conducted across the Firm, with a focus on integrating select functions into the central rules management system, linking key rules to Policy documents and enforcing standards for the conduct of rules management outside the system. The Rules Management Office will also continue implementing the strategy for traceability between the rules management system/rules inventory and downstream functions, such as policies and risk assessment, quality assurance and testing. The role will require collaboration with divisions outside Legal and Compliance, regional/divisional rules and policy management teams, a support team in Mumbai, technology teams that support related systems, Compliance program/policy owners and members of the Firm's senior management. The role will be cross-trained in policy management routines and the PolicyPortal system.
The successful candidate will be an experienced professional with a background in Compliance, Legal or regulatory roles relating to the financial services industry and a strong track record in roles that involve reviewing, analyzing or tracking laws, rules and regulations, as well as experience in dealing with stakeholders across Firm functions.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $110,000.00 and $190,000.00 at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
