Allianz Technology of America has a need for a Senior Counsel to focus on employment and commercial contracting. In this role, a successful candidate will be primarily responsible for day-to-day guidance to Human Resources, business and other teams on employment law and practices.  The role may also support the company’s commercial contracting functions, as needed.This role works on complex topics with independence and senior level judgement and decision-making.

Impact on Organizational Policies: Working closely with HR, you will be instrumental in developing and updating employment policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with legal requirements and industry standards. Responsibilities:

  • Advise Human Resources, senior executives and business leaders on a full range of employment matters, including wage and hour/payroll, employment discrimination, retaliation and accommodation; leaves of absence; wage/hour and payroll; worker classification; data privacy; layoffs and reorganizations; workplace injury; credit and criminal checks; waivers of claims and more. Support company’s employment-based global mobility and immigration matters.
  • Handle employment-related disputes, including mediation and, if necessary, litigation
  • Collaborate and manage outside counsel, as needed.
  • Develop and conduct training programs for employees and management on a variety of relevant employment topics and best practices
  • Work closely with HR to develop and update employment policies and procedures in line with legal requirements and industry standards
  • Review, draft and negotiate intercompany and external contracts
  • Support for Compliance and Privacy, as needed
  • Supporting other legal needs of organization, including corporate governance

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree required: Law degree from ABA-accredited law school
  • 10+ years of in-house or law firm with experience focused on employment law.5 years experience preferred: In-house or Law firm in IT industry.
  • Experience with commercial contracting preferred
  • Demonstrate strong ability to communicate complex information to business stakeholders and work independently.

Licenses: Licensed to practice in state of residency and working.
