Derivatives/MSFTA Attorney (In-House)

We are actively seeking New York-based attorneys with the following qualifications:

  • 5-15 years of Derivatives experience at a major U.S. law firm or with an in-house legal department; MSFTA experience and exposure are critical.
  • Deep experience with derivatives netting opinions.
  • Ability to analyze FIA-ISDA industry opinions to determine sufficiency.
  • Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating derivatives transactions including OTC, equity, or exotic products.
  • Experience implementing new regulations under Dodd-Frank with Clients such as Initial Margin.
  • Experience and interest in business client advisory.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced business and legal environment.
  • A commercial approach to legal issues in support of business objectives.
  • A high level of professionalism and outstanding business judgment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be willing to support a hybrid work schedule, including three days onsite in Manhattan -based office.
  • J.D. degree (attorney).
  • Active bar in the jurisdiction of which you reside (attorney).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with netting ideal.

  • Lead in reviewing a high volume of derivatives netting opinions for material changes in the law and regulations, and identify what updates are required.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of derivatives transactions.
