The Global Compliance Counsel will manage IFF’s SpeakUp Compliance Hotline , including the following responsibilities :

  • Review all SpeakUp reports to identify emerging trends and create and implement relevant risk mitigation plans;
  • Conduct or oversee internal investigations for the global organization from intake to closure;
  • Supervise regional compliance investigators and other internal and external compliance resources as they conduct investigations.
  • Advise on and, where appropriate, manage remediation efforts resulting from compliance-related investigations.
  • Train colleagues in other departments on how to properly handle compliance reports and investigations; and
  • Manage global compliance-related litigations and agency proceedings from inception to resolution.

The Global Compliance Counsel with help manage IFF’s ethics and compliance program including responsibilities to:

  • Develop and operationalize compliance strategy and implement priority initiatives
  • Develop, update, implement and communicate on compliance-related policies
  • Conduct regular compliance-related risk assessments and develop and implement responsive action plans
  • Lead Ethics & Compliance-related risk management
  • Serve as compliance lead on M&A, integration and divestiture efforts
  • Provide expert advice to key stakeholders throughout the organization, helping them navigate complex compliance challenges and make informed decisions
  • Utilize data analytics to spot emerging issues and trends, define process improvements and help with training initiatives related to ethics and compliance
  • Develop presentations and other updates for the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors
  • Develop, update and conduct live and online compliance training
  • Liaise with senior leadership on key compliance initiatives.

Job Requirements

  • Law degree (preferably US)
  • Solid experience in compliance, with a track record of success in a leadership role
  • Experience investigating complex compliance matters
  • “Hands-on” attorney who can operate autonomously, yet effectively collaborate across a matrixed organization
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to connect with and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to draft and implement key corporate policies and procedures to empower and enable employees to achieve business objectives in a compliant manner
  • Tech savvy with excellent presentation skills
  • Strong knowledge of legal requirements and best practices related to anti-bribery and corruption and other compliance topics.

Location:

US (ideally NY or NJ), but flexible due to hybrid work schedule.
