Job Summary: The General Counsel serves as the chief legal officer of the company, providing expert legal advice and guidance to senior management and overseeing all legal matters pertaining to the organization. This role requires a strategic thinker with a comprehensive understanding of corporate law, regulatory compliance, and risk management.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Legal Strategy: Develop and implement legal strategies aligned with the company's objectives and risk tolerance.
  • Corporate Governance: Ensure compliance with corporate governance principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Contracts: Review contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to protect the company's interests.
  • Risk Management: Identify legal risks and implement measures to mitigate them.
  • Litigation Management: Manage legal disputes, including litigation, arbitration, and regulatory.
  • Intellectual Property: Protect and enforce the company's intellectual property rights.
  • Employment Law: Advise on employment law matters, including employee relations, policies, and compliance.
  • Compliance: Establish and maintain compliance programs to ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
  • Mergers & Acquisitions: Provide legal support for mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.
  • Ethics and Integrity: Promote a culture of ethical behavior and integrity throughout the organization.
  • External Relationships: Manage relationships with external legal counsel, regulators, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned, including driving an automobile for company business.

Job Schedule: This is a full-time, exempt position primarilyworking 40+ hours per week.

Qualifications:

Skills and Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Oklahoma bar.
  • 10 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on corporate or commercial law
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strategic thinker and collaborative.
  • Comfortable making difficult decisions.
  • Business acumen ability to understand what drives the business.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Must have, or be able to obtain, a valid Oklahoma drivers license and have a driving record acceptable to the company.
  • Ability to perform other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Capable of handling the physical and mental requirements including:
    • ability to verbally communicate in English
    • ability to read computer monitor information (words and data)
    • ability to hear detailed spoken word
    • ability to remain sedentary and to travel to work location
    • ability to perform manual dexterity tasks with hands, fingers
    • ability to analyze data, concentrate, reason, and write
    • ability to perform under emotional stress
    • ability to lift 10 pounds unaided
