Who are we hiring?

The VP, Legal Operations and Process Automation will lead department-wide and/or special operational initiatives including budget management, requirements gathering, solution design and/or procurement, implementation, testing, change management and ongoing support for the Madison Square Garden Legal department. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the legal department’s operations while collaborating with various departments to implement streamlined processes.

What will you do?

 

  • Oversee and manage the implementation and execution of Legal Operations strategic initiatives and annual goals, including budgeting management, department-wide technology projects and initiatives.
  • Partner with General Counsel and Technology to identify and implement legal department systems/tools to streamline new or existing practices, as well as managing budget, design, rollout, and driving innovation in execution and management.
  • Lead and oversee multiple projects with competing priorities across a broad range of topics with minimal direction.
  • Evaluate and implement legal technology solutions in collaboration with IT department to streamline workflows, enhance productivity, and improve communication.
  • Independently resolving complex issues and challenges, looking beyond the obvious for creative and innovative solutions.
  • Maintain documentation for core department processes (and, as applicable, assist with the development of the same), procedures, and workflows.

What do you need to succeed?

 

  • Undergraduate degree required.
  • Minimum 6 years of in-house legal department or law firm experience in strategic managing of operations and technology initiatives.
  • Design and development experience with business intelligence tool skills such as Tableau or ServiceNow workflow automation tools to automate manual processes and workflow solutions; MS Office Suite experience.
  • Demonstrate a strong blend of legal operations expertise, technical proficiency, and industry knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills that enable partnering with and influencing key stakeholders in a matrix environment at all levels in an organization.
  • Core process controls and financial firm governance adherence experience.
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset, with the ability to leverage data to drive decision-making and process improvements. Understands the needs of the operations team while solving issues for legal department.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross functional teams and manage multiple strategic operations programs and projects simultaneously.

Pay Range

$230,000—$275,000 USD
