Description

As a Commercial Counsel for Verily’s Onduo / Lightpath business, you will work directly with a team of experts from the fields of telehealth, engineering, computer science, health economics and more on commercial transactions that support groundbreaking projects.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate with the Verily team and work closely with product counsel and privacy counsel to support company commercial initiatives.
  • Advise clients on complex deal structures, contractual legal issues and risks, company approval processes, company policies and procedures and negotiation strategy.
  • Review, draft and negotiate a broad range of agreements to meet the diverse needs of the team. This includes licensing, collaboration, clinical study, data use, co-development, strategic partnership, joint venture, supply/manufacturing, inbound services agreements, confidentiality agreements and more. Negotiate agreements that comply with Verily’s policies and risk tolerance.
  • Respond promptly to legal requests from science, engineering and business clients, summarizing and communicating legal concepts that clients can understand and use.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • JD degree and licensed to practice law in a US jurisdiction.
  • 7+ years of experience in healthcare supporting commercial transactions.
  • Experience in two or more of the following or related fields of legal practice: healthcare, telehealth, commercial contracting, FDA regulatory, fraud and abuse, government contracting, and regulatory or health insurance and reimbursement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant work experience in: a law firm with a nationally recognized healthcare practice; in-house legal department of a life sciences or healthcare company; and/or a government agency involved in the regulation of healthcare issues.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to be flexible in a fast paced environment with limited direction, balance competing priorities, proactively complete legal work and meet deadlines, and manage several time-sensitive projects at once.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a high volume of requests, and an eagerness to take on cutting edge legal issues in the life sciences industry, and to learn.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $188,000 - $268,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
