The Opportunity

Primary Objectives        

To provide paralegal assistance to the practice groups within our elite global law firm’s New York office.

 

Key Responsibilities

There is a lot of variety within the role, but principle responsibilities will include the following:

  • Provide paralegal support to the attorneys in the New York office alongside senior paralegals on a daily basis.
  • Assist the managing clerk, senior paralegals and attorneys with the preparation of legal documents, document productions and other various tasks.
  • Adequately compile and organize case materials such as pleadings, discovery and correspondence documents and compile relevant documents in databases and network drives to maintain an accessible case file.
  • Assist senior paralegals and attorneys with preparing deposition witness files, document productions, briefs and other various tasks as they are assigned.
  • Organize, analyze, and index documents and exhibits.
  • Conduct and provide internet research, including pulling cases from Lexis and Westlaw.
  • Attend training sessions and actively participate in learning opportunities.
  • Support the Disputes team in various administrative tasks as required.
  • Ability to convey information to individuals at all levels within the firm in a courteous and professional manner; strong client service orientation.

 

Skills / Qualifications      

  • The willingness and ability to make a two-year commitment.
  • BS/BA from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Superior working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Flexibility for overtime when needed.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to work concurrently on a variety of projects with changing priorities.
  • Exercise good judgment and follow through on assigned tasks.
  • The ideal candidate will enjoy being a team player as well as working independently.
  • Exhibit a positive, helpful attitude and the ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including communications that are clear and concise, use proper grammar and appropriate vocabulary.

Hours: 9:30am to 5:30pm

Salary: The salary range for this role is 55 to 60k. Final salary for this role will be determined by skills and experience.
