Legal.io is working with a leading aerospace defense company who is seeking a Regulatory and Compliance Counsel to support on investigations. This is a flex position - up to 30 hours/week, depending on candidate availability. This is a fully remote position.

 

Scope of Work

Title: Regulatory & Compliance Counsel (Secondment)

Experience: 5+ Years

Location: Remote (Remote)

Hours: 10 - 30, depending on candidate availability

Pay Rate: $100 - $125 / hour

Duration: 3 Months, starting January 2025

 

Job description:

 

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an investigator and counsel on regulatory and compliance matters, including industry-specific regulations and broader legal requirements – primarily, ITAR and EAR compliance, but also Customs compliance to a lesser extent.
  • Managing a portfolio of matters to evaluate, investigate, and disclose (where needed) potential instances of regulatory or policy non-compliance.
  • Conducting investigations of potential regulatory or policy failure, evaluating failure mode, identifying root cause, and proposing appropriate and achievable corrective actions.
  • Drafting internal memos and disclosures, collaborating within internal frameworks for the timely and accurate submission to regulators were needed.
  • Primary regulators are U.S. Department of State and U.S. Department of Commerce.
  • Advise on any encountered risks, and relevant mitigation strategies and corrective actions.
  • Manage all activities in accordance with company policy and process standards.

 

Requirements:

  • US citizen
  • Requires a high level of experience - a minimum of 5 years of experience in this area.
