Interim Deputy General Counsel
Our client, an economic consulting firm based in Washington, DC, is seeking an interim deputy general counsel (“DGC”) to assist their in-house legal team. The ideal candidate will have 3-10 years of experience handling commercial contracts and agreements. The interim DGC will handle the “first pass” of these documents to give the organization’s Associate General Counsel some leverage. This is a full-time, hybrid contract assignment for about four months beginning in January 2025. Requirements:· Junior to mid-level commercial contracts attorney with 3-10 years of experience· In-house experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and general business agreements, including MSAs and NDAs· Familiarity with litigation process, litigation holds, etc.· Experience with conflicts work is a plus· Strong written and oral communication skills· Licensed attorney, active and in good standing, in any US jurisdiction Job Details:· Hybrid, with the ability to report to the client’s Washington, DC office 2 days per week (metro-accessible)· Hours: full-time, 40 hours per week· Start Date: ASAP (early January 2025)· Duration: about 4 months (from January 2025 through at least April 2025)· Compensation: $80 - $100 per hour, depending on experience
