Reporting to the General Counsel, the successful candidate for Corporate Counsel will be a practical, business-minded attorney who will become an integral member of the Company’s legal department. The department supports the Company’s diverse business units that supply products and services to the worldwide commercial aviation industry, including: leasing and finance of commercial aircraft and aircraft engines and components; trading of aircraft, aircraft engines, and components in the secondary market; repair and overhaul of aircraft engines, parts, and components; logistics services; and digital software services. The department also supports the Company’s corporate governance, compliance, human resources, information systems, accounting and finance, facilities, and risk and litigation management. The Company’s business has a worldwide scope, with the result that attorneys are frequently required to consider foreign laws and international practice issues.
Responsibilities
- Heavy drafting of complex documents/contracts for domestic and international transactions in the areas of finance, commercial real estate, or mergers and acquisitions
- Interact extensively with management and employees of the Company at all levels, and with outside counsel as required
- Provide fast and informed legal guidance to management on a wide range of commercial and legal issues, including commercial transactions, finance, regulatory, corporate governance, labor, trade, IP, insurance, and tax
- Coach and mentor team members
Requirements
- Strong drafting experience and detail oriented
- Ability to function successfully in a fast-paced yet collegial environment
- 5+ years experience in a national or international law firm
- Demonstrated ability to work with all levels and throughout an organization
- JD, licensed and in good standing in FL or another state, or otherwise qualified to become an Authorized House Counsel in Florida
