Attorney (In -House) - Jersey City 160k-180k

• Operate in partnership with the company’s underwriting team to assist assigned business unit(s) in achieving their annual goals and objectives
• Provide legal counsel, compliance advice, and regulatory guidance, as requested on the ordinary and special activities of specified insurance business unit(s), and other client groups
• Advise on structuring business relationships, new product development, marketing efforts and other business activities
• Provide legal support, due diligence, and advice regarding acquisitions and strategic investments
• Support internal projects as needed; provide timely and concise input to senior leadership for quarterly legal reports, team KPIs, strategic initiatives, etc.

Required Skills And Abilities

• Must have experience in the insurance industry
• Must have experience with product drafting.
• Ability to deliver creative and well-reasoned plans to resolve challenges and to execute on such plans

Education/Experience

• J.D. from an accredited law school and a member in good standing
• Attorney with at least three years of major law firm experience, and will have some exposure to the insurance business and/or insurance-related legal work and familiarity with insurance compliance and regulatory work.
• Experience with small commercial insurance and package policies, Business Owner Policies (BOP), and Delegated Authority / Programs business is a plus.
