Description

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of low Earth orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

We are looking for an exceptional attorney to join the legal team supporting Project Kuiper. You will be a leader on the legal team responsible for advising business leaders, product and engineering teams, and other lawyers on global privacy laws and new regulatory developments. Responsibilities will include leading various aspects of our ongoing privacy compliance efforts, developing privacy-forward policies and procedures, and working cross-functionally to drive innovative solutions to complex, strategic privacy issues. Your role will also include supporting a variety of stakeholders, including privacy, public relations, and public policy teams.

Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of legal experience
• Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
• Data privacy experience
• Ability to demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations
• Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines
• Strong written and oral communication skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
