The Ideal Candidate for This Opening
We are looking for an attorney with an agile mind and excellent legal skills to join us as a member of our Sustainability Legal team. This attorney will report to our Global Sustainability Counsel and be part of our Litigation, Ethics & Compliance organization within HP’s Legal Department. You will be a trusted advisor to our Sustainability Impact & Compliance organization and various internal business partners around the world, including supply chain, procurement, product design and development, sales, marketing, and operations. You will be called upon to advise creatively and effectively on complex legal challenges and company initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have both law firm and in-house legal experience and will have subject matter legal expertise in the areas of green marketing claim regulations, circularity goals and requirements, climate-related matters (including carbon emissions, reductions, and reporting requirements), deforestation regulations, product safety regulations, chemicals and materials compliance, transboundary movement of used goods and waste, accessibility requirements, and EHS regulations and environmental remediation (e.g., CERCLA) matters. Additional experience advising global manufacturing companies, counseling on extended producer responsibilities, addressing human rights matters (including human slavery and conflict minerals), and advising on ESG reporting and disclosures is a plus.

The typical base pay range for this role in Houston, TX is USD $154,000 - $237,150 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations within the Vancouver, WA area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $146,650 - $225,850 per year.
