This position may be filled in an onsite or hybrid capacity in any of our office locations.

The Associate Director of Legal Support Services will collaborate closely with the Director to ensure the smooth operation and optimization of our legal administrative support functions. This position will be responsible for providing leadership, guidance, and support to the legal administrative support services team while assisting in the development and implementation of departmental strategies. Essential job functions include:

_Team Leadership:

_

  • Assist the Director in leading and supervising the legal support services team, including Practice Support Teams, Administrative Resource Team and Resource Center.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to support staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

_Operations Management:

_

  • Work with the Director to develop and implement efficient processes and workflows to enhance the delivery of support services.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure that all tasks and projects are completed accurately and on time.

_Quality Assurance:

_

  • Assist in establishing and maintaining quality control measures to ensure the highest level of service quality and accuracy.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of support service tasks and documentation.

_Client Service:

_

  • Collaborate with attorneys and legal teams to provide exceptional support to clients.
  • Address client inquiries and concerns related to support services promptly and professionally.

_Training and Development:

_

  • Help identify training needs and opportunities for professional development within the support services team.
  • Assist in the development of training programs and resources.

_Technology Integration:

_

  • Stay updated on legal technology trends and assist in implementing software and tools to enhance support service capabilities.
  • Collaborate with IT to ensure the effective use and security of digital assets.

_Reporting:

_

  • Assist in preparing regular reports on departmental performance, metrics, and key performance indicators for senior management.

_Compliance:

_

  • Assist the Director in ensuring that support services comply with all relevant legal regulations, including data privacy and confidentiality.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or combination of education and commensurate work experience required.
  • 8-10 years’ progressive leadership and management experience within a legal support services department.
  • Substantial experience leading company‐wide initiatives within a multi‐office setting required.
  • Strong understanding of legal processes, procedures, and technology.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining high ethical standards and confidentiality.

_ Compensation And Benefits

Employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with skill and experience. The exact compensation will vary based on skills, experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. The expected compensation ranges for this position in various states and jurisdictions are as follows:

  • State of California: $111,000 - $211,000
  • State of Colorado: $102,000 - $182,000
  • State of Illinois: $100,000 - $194,000
  • State of Maryland: $107,000 - $163,000
  • State of Massachusetts: $111,000 - $211,000
  • State of Minnesota: $111,000 - $183,000
  • Washington, D.C.: $143,000 - $210,000

The above salaries do not include a discretionary bonus, however bonus opportunities are non-guaranteed, and are dependent upon individual and firm performance.
