The Corporate Counsel will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance and managing legal risk. You’ll be the go-to expert on legal matters across their company - from regulatory compliance
and contracting to privacy, training, and beyond.

Preference for candidates in or willing to travel to Philadelphia
Qualifications
- JD from an accredited law school; licensed and in good standing with a U.S. state bar
- 4+ years of experience in healthcare law
- Expertise in corporate practice of medicine, HIPAA, FERPA, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and payer compliance
- Comfortable operating in a dynamic, startup environment with shifting priorities
- Excellent judgment, communication skills, and business acumen
Responsibilities
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA, Stark, and Anti-Kickback Statute
- Monitor and interpret evolving federal and state healthcare laws as well as educational laws (with support from outside counsel)
- Lead implementation of a refined compliance program to accommodate changes needed as the company scales
- Serve as the organizational compliance officer and oversee adherence with Joint Commission standards, state regulations, and other applicable clinical and facility licensure requirements
- Manage compliance for state, local, and federally funded programs
- Ensure telehealth-specific compliance including provider licensure, consent, and prescribing rules across jurisdictions
- Provide as needed research on potential target markets and lines of service
Privacy & Data Protection
- Serve as the company’s HIPAA Privacy Officer
- Oversee investigations and response for any data breach or privacy incident
- Ensure contract compliance (i.e, FERPA compliance) for school-based programs
Employment & HR Legal
- Provide first-line support for general HR employee-related matters (consulting outside counsel as appropriate)
Risk Management & Legal Operations
- Coordinate with outside counsel to ensure maintenance of corporate registrations, filings, and good standing across states
- Ensure robust internal documentation for audits, licensing, and compliance programs
- Draft, review, and support key contract negotiations (vendors, payers, school districts, technology, etc.)
Cross-Functional Legal Support
- Serve as legal liaison across departments including operations, finance, HR, product, and clinical leadership
- Coordinate with external counsel as needed to address complex or specialized legal matters across all areas of the business
- Support other legal matters and business initiatives as they arise
