Posted Apr 03 I am working with a Mid to Large sized firm working across multiple jurisdictions in America to support their rapidly growing Data Breach practice. With the ongoing threat of Cyber Attacks the demand for Attorneys specializing in the area has never been higher.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Data Breach Litigation Cases: Handle class actions, consumer protection claims, and regulatory investigations related to data breaches.
- Conduct Legal Research & Strategy: Develop litigation strategies, draft pleadings, motions, and briefs, and conduct pretrial discovery.
- Regulatory & Compliance Advisory: Advise clients on GDPR, CCPA, BIPA, and other data privacy laws related to security incidents.
- Incident Response & Investigation Support: Work with forensic teams, crisis management, and compliance experts to mitigate legal risks.
- Client Counseling & Risk Management: Provide strategic guidance on data breach notification obligations, cybersecurity policies, and litigation risks.
- Courtroom & Settlement Negotiations: Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
Requirements:
- J.D. degree from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- Minimum of 5 years experience handling Large-scale Litigation cases at an AM200 firm
- Experience with eDiscovery & digital forensics in cybersecurity-related cases.
- Knowledge of privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, BIPA, HIPAA, GLBA) and their litigation implications.
- Ability to work with technical experts and cybersecurity teams to analyze breach evidence.
