JOB SUMMARY This position requires a successful candidate to perform in-house counsel responsibilities, including, but not limited to, commercial contracts, employment matters, and compliance as more specifically described below.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Primary point of contact for drafting, editing, negotiating, and reviewing contracts, including confidentiality agreements, customer contracts, provider contracts, business associate agreements, employment agreements, and various vendor contracts.
  • Conduct legal research as needed and be able to synthesize legal concepts for general business use.
  • Identify relevant federal and state statutory and regulatory requirements, provide counsel on the operational implications of such, and advise on procedures to satisfy these requirements, support operations and the implementation of solutions.
  • Assist in maintaining corporate records and keep abreast of legislative changes.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Law degree from an accredited law school and an active member of the California bar.
  • Minimum two years of experience working in a law firm.
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks of HIPPA, Medicare, and Medicaid is a plus.
  • Proven interpersonal and collaborative skills, written and verbal communication skills, and effective at problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated responsiveness and ability to simultaneously handle multiple assignments and prioritize work assignments and meet the needs of a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills are required.
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook. Experience with Salesforce a plus.
  • Ability to travel occasionally.
