Chief Compliance Officer/Legal Counsel (Private Equity)
Chief Compliance Officer & Legal Counsel Location: New York, NY (Hybrid)
Overview: Join an esteemed private equity firm in New York as they seek a dynamic and experienced Chief Compliance Officer & Legal Counsel. This is a tremendous opportunity for an ambitious legal professional to step into a high-impact role within a growing organization. The successful candidate will have the chance to grow into the firm's General Counsel over time, leading both the compliance and legal functions. This position offers support underneath for day-to-day operations, but the ideal candidate should thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess a proactive approach to problem-solving.
The ideal candidate will have 8-15 years of post JD experience, Big Law, and Private Equity exposure.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from a top law school.
- Extensive experience in a law firm, ideally with significant Big Law experience, providing corporate, compliance, and transactional legal services.
- Private equity experience is highly preferred but not required.
- Proven ability to manage complex legal and compliance issues in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation: 350-450k base + bonus (650-800k all-in), depending on experence
