The Compliance Director will be responsible for oversight of HomeVestors’ audit programs and other activities focused on franchisee compliance with the Franchise Agreement, HomeVestors' system standards, and company policies. This position reports to the CFO and the General Counsel, and will play an instrumental role in the financial and ethical well-being of HomeVestors and the protection of its famous brands.

This is a hybrid position, with Tuesday through Thursday in our Dallas office and work-from-home on Mondays and Fridays. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Oversight of the Fee Audit Team in their mission to enforce HomeVestors' transaction reporting requirements.
  • Oversight of the Compliance Audit Team in their mission to monitor franchisee compliance with the Franchise Agreement and Systems and Standards.
  • Oversight of the program to monitor and respond to complaints from sellers and homeowners regarding franchises and documenting same.
  • Implementation of Document Retention Policy, including annual reviews.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to executives regarding compliance initiatives and changing legal landscape.
  • Other tasks as necessary to protect and further the brand and the financial health of the franchise system.

Qualifications

A qualified candidate for this position must be willing to learn the intricacies of HomeVestors franchise system, including the Franchise Disclosure Document, Franchise Agreement, Systems and Standards, Franchise Advisories, company policies, brand guidelines, and advertising campaigns.

The candidate must also:

  • Possess a J.D., B.A., B.S. or associate’s degree and have experience in compliance management or legal compliance.
  • Be able to manage multiple teams and work with company executives.
  • Be able to multi-task and work cross-departmentally in a collaborative environment, including with personnel in IT to help develop systems to increase the functionality and effectiveness of the compliance programs.
  • Be comfortable having difficult conversations with customers, internal clients, and vendors.
  • Be detail and process oriented.
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be a team player.
  • Work comfortably in Microsoft applications and programs; experience with Salesforce is a plus but not a requirement.

This position may also assist other Accounting and Legal Department teammates in their duties, as needed, and may also lend assistance periodically for franchisee-facing events, such as the annual convention.
