Posted Apr 21 A leading global motor vehicle company is seeking to engage an experienced Antitrust Counsel to help lead the company's US antitrust legal matters on a full-time (40 hours per week), contract/interim basis for a 4 month term (through September 2025).

Pay Rate: $100 - $120 / hr

This role will provide comprehensive legal advice and support on antitrust matters, encompassing both daily operational issues and special projects. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of U.S. antitrust laws and regulations, demonstrate the ability to work independently with internal clients, and provide strategic guidance to the business. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and growing organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide legal advice and counsel to internal business clients on a wide range of antitrust matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, distribution agreements, pricing practices, and competitor collaborations.
- Conduct antitrust risk assessments and due diligence reviews.
- Develop and deliver training programs on antitrust compliance.
- Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments related to antitrust law.
- Draft and negotiate agreements that comply with antitrust requirements.
- Represent the company before regulatory agencies, such as the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
- Manage and oversee antitrust litigation, if necessary.
- Collaborate with outside counsel on complex antitrust matters.
- Develop and implement antitrust compliance policies and procedures.
- Provide proactive counseling and support to business units to ensure compliance with antitrust laws.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Deep understanding of U.S. antitrust laws, including the Sherman Act, Clayton Act, and Federal Trade Commission Act.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-legal audiences.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with internal clients.
- Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of 7 years of experience (preferably 10+ years) practicing antitrust law in a reputable law firm and/or in-house legal department.
- A combination of law firm and in-house experience is preferred.
- Experience with international antitrust law is a plus.
EDUCATION & LICENSING:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to a state bar and eligible to practice law.
- Member in good standing with the relevant bar association(s).
