Energy Trading Counsel

Konexo US is seeking an experienced energy trading counsel for a 6-month long secondment with a client in the Greater Houston area. This opportunity is an independent contractor role for project-based work and is ideal for individuals who are freelancing or looking for limited duration opportunities.

• Start date: July 2025
• Work pattern: Full time hours
• Contract duration: 6 months
• Location: Remote or Hybrid in the Greater Houston area

What you should have:

• 5+ years’ experience drafting and negotiating natural gas supply and trading agreements, including ISDA Master agreements and NAESB contracts, and providing legal and regulatory guidance to trading desks
• Thorough knowledge of FERC and CFTC regulations
• Familiarity with California natural gas market ideal
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and exceptional research and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Active bar membership in good standing in your state of residence
