Job Overview – Associate Claims Counsel: Compensation: $88,000 – $125,000/year + bonus Location: Wayne, PA Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)

Atlantic Group is hiring a Claims Counsel for our client in Wayne, PA. This in-office role is ideal for attorneys with experience in title insurance, real estate law, or insurance litigation. You’ll handle complex claims, manage vendor and litigation relationships, review legal documents, and advise internal teams on compliance, regulatory matters, and risk exposure within a dynamic legal environment.

Responsibilities as the Associate Claims Counsel:

  • Claims Management: Investigate and evaluate title and real estate claims, determine coverage, set reserves, and manage outside counsel.
  • Legal Document Review: Analyze deeds, leases, easements, and loan agreements to support claims resolution and decision-making.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Advise on insurance regulations, risk mitigation, and market conduct, staying current on NAIC and industry updates.
  • Litigation & Vendor Oversight: Manage litigation strategies and oversee vendor relationships and service performance.
  • Internal Advisory Support: Provide legal guidance to internal teams on real estate, operations, and compliance matters.
  • Regulatory Response: Prepare responses to audits, examinations, and regulatory complaints to ensure timely, accurate reporting.

Qualifications for the Associate Claims Counsel:

  • Education: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school required.
  • Licensure: Active bar admission in the state of Pennsylvania is required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years of legal experience in a title insurer, law firm, or corporate legal department, with a strong focus on title insurance, real estate, or insurance law.
  • Legal Skills: Advanced understanding of litigation management, legal research, contract drafting, and real estate documentation.
  • Technical Skills: Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), with preferred experience in legal document management systems for efficient case handling and workflow support.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong communicator with sound judgment, organizational skills, and the ability to manage priorities and build effective relationships in a fast-paced environment.
