Description

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

Export Control Requirement

Key job responsibilities

We are looking for a talented lawyer to join the Amazon Legal team supporting Project Kuiper. You will provide legal advice and transactional support to Project Kuiper's field services and operations teams. The successful candidate will develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways and build processes that address risk and allow the business flexibility and freedom to move quickly.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about technology, enjoys being continually challenged, and demonstrates sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.

Some travel, domestic and international, will be required.

A day in the life

You will structure, draft, and negotiate a range of agreements with providers of professional installation, de-installation, and service for customer terminals and other agreements related to field services and operations. You will also counsel the business team on legal issues related to service providers and operations.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of legal experience
  • Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
  • Legal transactional experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
  • Experience drafting and negotiating service agreements, operations agreements, and technology agreements

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
