Summary:

The Senior Legal Contract Specialist's primary responsibility is to review, revise, negotiate and finalize customer contracts as well as revisions suggested to Maxim Crane standard agreements. The successful candidate must have a meticulous nature suited to reading for the majority of each workday paying close attention to detail; possess good writing skills; and be an effective communicator/negotiator (through both the written and spoken word). The Contract Specialist will be exposed to Maxim Crane employees and suppliers/customers throughout the U.S. on a daily basis. The Maxim Crane Legal Department has a team mentality and the Contract Specialist will have constant interaction with all members of the Department including the Chief Legal Officer/General Counsel. This is a full-time, exempt position that works onsite in our office in Canonsburg, PA.

Responsibilities:

  • Review Customer Agreements, Contracts, Purchase Orders, and other legal documents to identify areas of legal and operational concern
  • Work with Maxim sales reps as well as client contacts to negotiate and modify problematic clauses in above documents
  • Manage all updates and modifications to Maxim Crane standard contract documents
  • Work within and update documents within Maxim Crane’s contract database

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience reviewing legal contracts, construction or related industry experience preferred
  • Honed analytical and organization skills
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Keen attention to detail with an ability to spot errors
  • Versed in working with employees at all levels of the organization, customers, and outside counsel
  • Proven time-management skills
  • Adept at working both independently and in a team environment
