This role would report to the Montgomery office and would cover document review/signing and court appearances throughout the state. The role is primarily document review and signing, court appearance are very rare.

Position Summary The State Level Attorney is responsible for ensuring client success at the litigation level including preparation for and through trial.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Conduct document review and discovery
  • Execute documents requiring Attorney’s signature
  • Communicate with Managing Attorney and clients in order to discuss details of cases
  • Assist in responding to litigation specific components of all client audits
  • Monitor relevant legal rules, regulations, statutes, and case law
  • Conduct research and analysis of legal problems
  • Analyze the probable outcomes of cases, using knowledge of legal precedents
  • Prepare and file legal documents
  • Manage and resolve collection litigation
  • Work with Pro Se litigants, opposing counsel, or other interested parties to settle files throughout the litigation process
  • Oversees and interacts with outside collections and defense counsel
  • Supports corporate compliance with laws and regulations governing debt collection and related activities

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Graduate of an accredited institution by the American Bar Association (ABA) with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree
  • Licensed to practice law
  • Demonstrated case analysis ability and a track record of proven settlement skills
  • Proficient in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Proficient in internet and online research
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment such as a copy machine, printer, scanner, and computer
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation usage
