Job Description
Sanofi’s contingent workforce program, FLEXT Direct, is seeking a Scientist I for a 12-month contract to support the CMC Synthetics Platform within the Sanofi R&D organization. This group is responsible for process development of small molecule drug substances for clinical studies.
We are seeking a hands-on laboratory manager with excellent organizational skills to provide day-to-day operational and scientific support at our Cambridge Crossing (CX) site in Cambridge, MA.
Key Responsibilities
General Laboratory Support:
- Provide on-site laboratory support including both scientific functions and equipment/instrumentation maintenance.
- Perform experimental protocols to support Sanofi’s technology platforms.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety training and operational guidelines.
- Support inventory management, purchasing, and shipping of chemical compounds and laboratory supplies.
Laboratory Operations
- Maintain lab equipment and support new equipment installation and material readiness.
- Submit and track work requests, coordinating with service engineers for equipment repairs or maintenance.
- Write and maintain training documentation describing proper use of equipment and lab workflows.
- Coordinate with IT for laboratory computer and software troubleshooting.
- Assist scientists with domestic and international shipping of chemical samples, bulk chemicals, and intermediates between Sanofi sites and CROs/CMOs.
- Monitor and maintain HPLC/UPLC diluent and eluent supplies as needed.
- Generate experimental data by following established platform protocols.
Requirements
- B.S. or B.A. in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline with at least 3 years of relevant lab experience, or a Master’s degree in Chemistry.
- Proven hands-on laboratory experience, including equipment and instrument maintenance.
- Strong communication (oral and written) and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience working in team-based and collaborative scientific environments.
