Legal Operations Manager (with Transactional Paralegal expertise) – Renewable Energy

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Legal Operations professional to join our Legal & Compliance team. This role combines strategic legal operations leadership with hands-on support for complex transactions. The successful candidate will lead the selection and implementation of a Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system and AI-enabled workflows, build knowledge management and closing playbooks; and provide senior paralegal support for M&A, project finance, and tax equity and pref. equity transactions. Success = faster cycle times, clean data/KPIs, and frictionless closings.

Key Responsibilities:

Technology:

  • Lead the selection and implementation of a CLM system and related legal technology tools in collaboration with the IT and Business Operations Departments.
  • Identify, evaluate, and deploy AI solutions to streamline contract review, document automation, and legal & compliance workflows.
  • Administer legal request intake

Knowledge Management

  • Develop and maintain knowledge management systems, template libraries, clauses bank and playbooks.
  • Create and maintain a searchable knowledge base

Practice Operations

  • Design and enforce processes for complex transaction closings, including checklists, deliverable tracking, RACI, issues log, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Establish KPIs and reporting dashboards for legal operations performance, including outside counsel spend

Paralegal Support

  • Provide paralegal-level assistance for M&A and project finance transactions, including data room management, due diligence coordination, draft and review of ancillary documents, resolutions and signature packages, and document execution.
  • Ensure compliance with internal corporate governance requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certification from an accredited program.
  • 7–10+ years in legal operations and/or corporate paralegal roles (Big Law or in-house), with at least 3+ years owning CLM or contracting tech.
  • Proven track record implementing CLM systems and legal technology platforms, including strong understanding of AI applications in legal workflows and other legal software tools.
  • Demonstrated project management experience supporting complex transactions (M&A, project finance, tax equity).
  • Exceptional project management and organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and work under pressure and tight deadlines

  • Total compensation package dependent upon a number of factors, including candidate’s professional experience, candidate’s skills, position’s seniority level, department’s hiring budget, and position’s location.
  • The salary range for this role is $150,000 to $175,000.
