About The Role

The Manager, Business Applications Compliance will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity, compliance, and reliability of Welltower’s systems and processes within Yardi Voyager and its integrated modules. This role bridges operational, accounting, and technology functions by supporting internal controls, audit readiness, and compliance monitoring across Welltower’s property and operator ecosystem.

The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of both system administration and audit principles, working closely with Finance, Property Accounting, and IT teams to ensure Yardi processes align with Welltower’s internal control environment. This position supports the company’s goal of maintaining a best-in-class financial infrastructure, enabling trusted and transparent reporting to both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the liaison between Internal Audit, Property Accounting, and Business Applications to ensure Yardi configurations and processes align with audit requirements.
  • Design and maintain access controls, user roles, and permissions in accordance with Welltower’s SOX and compliance standards.
  • Conduct periodic system access and role provisioning reviews across Yardi Voyager, Payscan, and related modules.
  • Support audit testing and data validation during internal and external reviews.
  • Partner with IT and Finance teams to document and implement control procedures that enhance data accuracy, segregation of duties, and transaction traceability.
  • Develop, document, and maintain system workflows and audit logs to ensure transparency across financial processes.
  • Participate in the creation and execution of internal control assessments tied to key accounting and operational modules (e.g., GL, AP, Construction Manager, Investment Accounting).
  • Monitor and evaluate system changes, ensuring audit impacts are assessed and documented prior to release.
  • Assist in creating training materials to promote audit awareness and system compliance across business units.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and provide system access documentation, workflow evidence, and supporting reports as required.
  • Support remediation efforts identified during internal or external audits, ensuring timely and verified resolution.

Minimum Requirements

Skills / Specialized Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of Yardi system configuration, access controls, and security design.
  • Knowledge of SOX requirements, internal audit frameworks, and data integrity principles.
  • Strong documentation and report-writing skills for audit support and compliance tracking.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across accounting, operations, and IT functions.
  • Proven ability to interpret and apply control standards to operational and system workflows.

Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in accounting, internal audit, or financial systems administration.
  • Hands-on experience with Yardi Voyager and its core accounting or operational modules.
  • Experience working in or supporting a SOX-compliant environment.
  • Preferred experience with audit testing, risk assessment, or internal controls design.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field required.
  • CPA, CIA, or CISA certification preferred.
  • Agile, Six Sigma, or PMP certification a plus.
