We have an immediate need for a Litigation Paralegal to join our Denver office. This role is a great opportunity for a skilled Paralegal who thrives in a fast-paced environment while proactively handling the needs of busy attorneys in the Litigation Practice Group. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, a good multi-tasker, able to adjust to shifting priorities in a busy legal environment, and be self-motivated, with the ability to work well independently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery materials and correspondence; prepare and file documents with courts and agencies (electronic and paper filings) in multiple jurisdictions around the country.
  • Assist attorneys with case management including organizing case files, maintaining electronic case management systems and ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Support discovery processes by organizing and reviewing documents, preparing privilege logs and assisting with e-discovery.
  • Prepare, organize and manage document production including printing, scanning and formatting for filings and discovery.
  • Accurately enter and monitor court dates, deadlines and other critical events in the docketing system.
  • Assis with deposition preparation and other discovery requests; coordinate exhibits, witness lists and trial binders for hearings and trials.
  • Prepare for client meetings, document productions, depositions, hearings and trials including attendance at trial.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts and opposing counsel; handle routine correspondence promptly.
  • Provide administrate support including managing calendars, scheduling meetings and performing other tasks as required.
  • Assist attorneys with pro hac vice and court admissions in other federal and state jurisdictions.

Required and Preferred Qualifications:

  • We prefer candidates with a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years litigation paralegal experience from within a law firm setting.
  • Strong knowledge of litigation procedures and court rules.
  • Proficiency in docketing systems, e-filing platforms and document management tools.
  • Experience should also include prior trial attendance and preparation for trial including use of trial presentation software (i.e., TrialDirector), case organization and management, calendaring and excellence in performing all traditional paralegal activities related to bringing mid- to large-scale commercial litigation matters to trial.
  • Experience with Relativity and cutting-edge e-discovery programs including technology-assisted review and predictive coding.
  • Ability to work as part of a team with attorneys, paralegals and secretaries and/or to work independently with little supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to follow through on multiple projects while continuing to be detail oriented.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and under the pressure of deadlines as necessary. Limited travel is possible.

Compensation and Benefits: Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck offers a benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401k + match, profit sharing, and vacation/sick/personal time off. We are offering a wide range salary for this role as our salary will match up with the years of experience the successful candidate possesses, ranging from $90,000 - $115,000.
